    Library Mission

    In keeping with the mission of Clackamas Community College, the primary mission of the college library is to provide well-balanced and relevant collections of information resources and services to support instructional programs and assists patrons in the effective utilization of these resources.  The library also provides for the general information needs of students, staff, and community patrons.

    The mission of the College is to serve the people of the college district with high quality education and training opportunities that are accessible to all students, adaptable to changing needs, and accountable to the community we serve.

    Connection to College Mission

    We support the mission of the college in the following ways:

    The Library staff provide quality education by providing well-balanced and relevant collections and assisting patrons in effective utilization of these resources. 

    The library is accessible to all students by assisting students, staff and community patrons in the effective utilization of library resources.

    The library is adaptable to changing needs by maintaining relevant collections that support instructional programs.

    The library staff are accountable to the community we serve by building relevant collections of information resources and services and assisting patrons in the effective utilization of these resources.

    Connection to Core Themes

    • Transfer students

      The college library provides well-balanced and relevant collections of information resources and services to support transfer students and assists transfer students in the effective utilization of these resources.  The college library is essential in providing our transfer students open access to resources and services while offering instruction to them on the research fundamentals they will need at a four-year institution. 

    • Career and Technical students

      The college library provides well-balanced and relevant collections of information resources and services to support career and technical students and assists career and technical students in the effective utilization of these resources. The college library is a crucial resource for 2-year students, providing access to information and instructional services essential to the success of the individual. 

    • Essential Skills

      The college library provides well-balanced and relevant collections of information resources and services to support essential skills and assists essential skills students in the effective utilization of these resources.  The college library is a historically recognized institution which provides its patrons with open access to information services and instruction needed to locate quality, vetted information on the Internet.

    • Lifelong Learning

      The college library provides well-balanced and relevant collections of information resources and services to support lifelong learning and assists lifelong learners in the effective utilization of these resources.  The college library instills a love of learning in our users, provides essential services to those users, and teaches them to use a skeptical eye about the quality of free information accessed from the Internet.
