Clackamas Repertory Theatre kicks off its 2018 season
OREGON CITY – Clackamas Repertory Theatre will kick off its 2018 season with four staged readings.
Clackamas Rep will present two readings by playwright Lucas Hnath, “Red Speedo” and “The Christians.” Hnath found recent Broadway success with “A Doll’s House, Part II,” starring Laurie Metcalf and Chris Cooper. The play received eight Tony Awards including Best Play. The reading of “Red Speedo” will be Feb. 11 at 3 p.m. and “The Christians” reading will be March 25 at 3 p.m. Both events will take place at Clackamas Community College’s Niemeyer-Osterman Theatre, 19600 Molalla Ave., Oregon City.
Clackamas Rep has partnered with two local businesses, Trail Distilling and Portland Cider Company, to continue the popular “Bar Theatre” series. With the purchase of a ticket, patrons also receive one custom Clackamas Rep beverage to enjoy during the reading. A reading of “Mrs. Mannerly” by Jeffery Hatcher will take place March 4 at 6:30 p.m. at Trail Distilling, 21553 S. Highway 213, Oregon City. A reading of “Chapatti” by Christian O’Reilly will be April 22 at 6:30 p.m. at Portland Cider Company, 8925 SE Jannsen Road, building F, Clackamas.
