Become a Summer Scholar

Apr 12, 2018, 10:57 AM by CCC Staff

OREGON CITY - Incoming 2018-19 high school seniors and 2018 high school graduates can get a jumpstart on their four-year college degrees through Clackamas Community College’s Summer Scholars program – tuition free.

Students in Clackamas County can earn college credit and complete their general electives during an eight-week summer term, June 25-Aug. 17. Courses include:

  • Public speaking
  • Health and Fitness for Life
  • Personal Health
  • First aid/CPR
  • College algebra
  • Trigonometry and pre-calculus
  • Statistics
  • Calculus I and II

"Students who enroll in the Summer Scholar program will accelerate their college education while saving both time and money," Jaime Clarke, CCC director of education partnerships, said.

CCC will waive the tuition for the classes, and students are only responsible for course fees and books. Students may register for up to 10 college credits. Plus, students get a First Year Experience class for free, where they will learn the ins and outs of navigating college. This is a savings of more than $2,000 compared to a public four-year university!
