When it comes to graduating, the team in Graduation Services can help you stay on track to complete your degree. CCC also hosts two graduation ceremonies in June: one for our GED and Adult High School completers and one for our degree and certificate students. What is the difference between Graduation and Commencement?

Graduation is when a student is awarded a certificate or degree once they have satisfied all certificate or degree requirements as verified by the Graduation Services Office. After the verification process, the certificate or diploma is printed, mailed and posted to the student's CCC record. The mailing and posting process for certificates and diplomas usually takes 6 to 8 weeks after term grades are recorded.

Commencement is a ceremony that allows students, family and friends to celebrate in the student's academic accomplishments. Participation in the ceremony does not mean the student has graduated and students do not receive their certificates or diplomas at the ceremony.
