Clackamas wrestling is known throughout the Northwest and from coast to coast for producing high-caliber wrestlers and students. Under the guidance of 10-year Head Coach Josh Rhoden, the program has compiled a dual meet record of 101-31-2 and produced 90 national qualifiers, 53 All-Americans, six national champions and 63 Academic All-Americans. The Cougars have also won a total of four National Dual Meet Championships, including the last three straight championships. Additionally, the Cougars have dominated the West Region of late, winning five of the last six conference championships!
During the 2000 Olympics, former Cougar and five-time national champion Matt "The Law" Lindland captured a silver medal in the Sidney Games. Another alumnus, Glenn Garrison, the 1997 NJCAA National Champion for Clackamas, became the USA Senior Greco-Roman 145lbs Champion in 2007 and is the 2010 U.S. Senior Open Greco Champion.
Cougar wrestlers are bound by a tradition of excellence and hard work. It is this commitment that has allowed us to continue to be a constant threat at the national championships. We begin team building early through group activities and planned team outings. The commitment built through the team activities transforms the sport of wrestling into a team sport.
