CCC Seeks Volunteer Adult Literacy Tutors

Thu, 15 Jul 2010 09:25:36 PST

The National Institute for Literacy reports that more than 20 percent of adults read at or below a fifth-grade level.

CCC's Volunteer Literacy Tutor program is seeking volunteers interested in helping adults improve their literacy skills. Volunteers will be trained to assist adults working to improve reading, writing and math skills as well as those learning English as a second language.

Tutors should plan to attend the Portland Metro Volunteer Literacy Tutor Training workshops. For more information about volunteer opportunities in CCC’s Volunteer Literacy Tutor program, please contact Andrea Vergun at andreav@clackamas.edu or 503-594-3880.
