Clackamas Repertory Theatre presents “The Last Night of Ballyhoo,” the 1997 Tony Award-winning play by Alfred Uhry, author of “Driving Miss Daisy.”
The heartwarming and romantic comedy-drama previews Thursday, September 24, and opens Friday, September 25. The play continues through October 11, Thursday through Sunday. Evening performances Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays begin at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday matinees are at 2:30 p.m.
CRT artistic director David Smith-English directs the play, which features Ernie Casciato, Cyndy Smith-English and CRT favorites Jayson Shanafelt, Jayne Stevens, Heather Ovalle and Bob Alsman. New to CRT is Torrie Paddelford in the role of Beulah Levy.
This is the first time “Ballyhoo” has been presented professionally in the Portland area. The play also won the 1997 Outer Critic's Circle Award for best play and was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize.
