Art Show Features Best of Student Work

The 2010 Student Art Show, featuring the best work of Clackamas Community College art students for the past year, opens Thursday, May 20, in the Alexander Gallery. The show continues through June 3. This year’s student show will be juried by CCC Art Department faculty. Submissions in ceramics, metals, design, digital, photography, drawing, painting and sculpture will be accepted. The finest pieces will be accepted into the Student Art Show, and the remaining submissions will be included in a Salon De Refusé. Work accepted into the show will be judged by Dan Fuller, artist and director of Public Art for the city of Albuquerque, N.M. Awards will be given for first, second and third prizes in each category. Winners will be announced during the opening reception on Thursday, May 20, from noon to 1 p.m. in the Alexander Gallery. The Alexander Gallery is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, and during special events in the Niemeyer Center. For more information, call Kelly White at 503-594-3034.
