Workshop Gives Overview of International Humanitarian Aid

A one-day workshop providing a practical overview of the field of international humanitarian aid will be held at Clackamas Community College on Saturday, May, 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Gregory Forum. The workshop will be presented by Humanitarian Resources International and sponsored by CCC’s Humanities Division. The course covers theories and concepts of relief work, standards, assessment and response techniques; and practical issues about what it’s like to work as an international relief worker. The course will be taught by an experienced relief worker who has managed projects during armed conflicts and post-disaster situations in Indonesia, Lebanon, Bangladesh, Chad, Yemen, Burma (Myanmar) and Kenya.
