CCC: News Releases
The Nancy King Trio will perform at Clackamas Community College on Saturday, June 6, in the Niemeyer Center. Their visit is one of several musical acts that will perform during the Green Screen Clackamas Film Festival.
The Green Screen film festival features movies exploring sustainability — from shorts to feature length films. The film festival is the capstone to the spring-term Sustainability Project at the college. All events are free and open to the public.
The Nancy King Trio will perform from 5 to 5:40 p.m. The trio, featuring King, Tom Wakeling and Steve Christofferson, have been playing together for 25 years, performing in the United States, Canada and Europe. King was nominated for a Grammy award for jazz vocal album a couple of years ago.
The Green Screen Clackamas Film Festival begins with a reception on Saturday, June 6, from 3:30 to 6 p.m. in the college’s Niemeyer Center. The reception features refreshments, music and an opportunity to meet the film makers. A variety of short films will run in the Osterman Theatre during the reception.
Feature films begin at 6 p.m. with “Finding Normal” in the Osterman Theatre and “A Passion for Sustainability” from director Eric Stacey in the McLoughlin Auditorium. Both films are followed by a panel discussion. The final film of the evening, Aaron Woolf’s “King Korn” begins at 8 p.m. in the Osterman Theatre.
