Class Explores Sustainability in Business

Can business practices make a difference in the environmental challenges in today’s world? A one-credit course “Sustainability in Business,” offered by the Business Department spring term at Clackamas Community College looks at the subject. The course will explore how responsible businesses can profit by tackling social and environmental challenges such as poverty, resource depletion, global warming and pollution. It will investigate business’ role in contributing to our planet’s sustainability challenges as well as business’ potential to contribute to sustainable solutions. Class topics will include several current and emerging trends in sustainable business practices. Spring term starts March 29 and ends June 11. The class will take place Tuesdays from 1 to 1:50 p.m. in McLoughlin 253. The cost for the class is $77 in tuition and fees. For more information, contact instructor Sharon Parker at 503-594-3075.
