Secretary of State Kate Brown to Speak at CCC

Oregon Secretary of State Kate Brown will speak at CCC on Wednesday, April 15, from noon to 2 p.m. in the McLoughlin Auditorium. Her visit is in connection with the New Leadership Oregon Women in Public Leadership forum at CCC.

Brown’s visit is sponsored by the college’s Social Sciences Department. Brown, 48, an attorney, spent 17 years in the Legislature, five in the House and 12 in the Senate, before her election as Secretary of State last November. She was Senate Democratic leader from 1999 to 2007.

New Leadership Oregon is an organization dedicated to fostering career paths for women in politics and public service. Brown will speak about women in public leadership. Her visit is free and open to the public.
