Thu, 11 Feb 2010 22:17:24 GMT

The Clackamas Repertory Theatre begins its sixth season in July with a farce. That’s followed by the popular “Fiddler on the Roof” in August and Shakespeare in September. The Clackamas Repertory Theatre (CRT) presents professional theatrical productions in the Osterman Theatre at Clackamas Community College. The company features CCC graduates pursuing professional careers in theater, as well as local actors. This year’s line up begins July 8 with “The Ladies Man,” a farce by Georges Feydeau that has been loosely adapted by Charles Morey. Elizabeth Huffman directs the play, which runs through July 25. “Fiddler on the Roof,” by Joseph Stein, Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick, opens August 5 and runs through August 22. Doren Elias plays the role of Tevye in the production directed by David Smith-English. Tobias Andersen plays Prospero in William Shakespeare’s “The Tempest,” which opens Sept. 23 and runs through Oct. 10. Smith-English, artistic director for the CRT, directs. The CRT is also launching a play-reading series, Sundays at Three, which features contemporary American playwrights. The first reading, “Pen,” a comedy/drama by David Marshal Grant, will take place March 15. On April 25, “End Days” by Deborah Zoe Laufer will be featured, followed by “The Food Chain” by Nicky Silver on June 6. All readings are at 3 p.m. in the Osterman Theatre. Season tickets are on sale now at www.clackamasrep.org Season ticket purchasers can save up to 20 percent on the price.
