Learn to Lead
OREGON CITY - Leadership skills are vital for anyone looking to move up in their careers. To help new or mid-level leaders gain and refine the managerial skills needed to meet their professional goals, Clackamas Community College (CCC) is offering a new Leadership Essentials course, beginning Feb. 5.
Over the course of 13 weeks, participants will learn about communication, delegation, building and sustaining trust, resolving workplace conflict, maximizing team performance, goal setting, human resources essentials and how to address poor performance.
"Our leadership development programs at CCC will enhance the performance of leaders," Lisa Davidson, executive director of CCC Connections with Business and Industry, said. "This course will have a lasting impact on customers, employees and, ultimately, transform business."
Throughout the course, participants will also meet with workplace mentors to review their learning and workplace application exercises. Upon completion of the course, participants will receive an Oregon non-credit training certificate.
Leadership Essentials is instructed by Tenora Grigsby, who is an experienced manager, coach, facilitator and trainer who has helped individuals at all levels build their leadership skills.
Classes run Tuesdays, Feb. 5 through mid-July, 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at Clackamas Community College's Wilsonville campus at SE 29353 Town Center Loop East. The cost is $1,995.
