'The Liar' Opens at CCC
OREGON CITY - The Clackamas Community College (CCC) Theatre Department opens the Main Stage with its production of the comedy "The Liar" on Feb. 28.
Dorante, a charming young man newly arrived from Paris has but one flaw: He cannot tell the truth. He immediately hires Cliton, a manservant who cannot tell a lie. Dorante proceeds to fall in love with a charming young woman, Clarice, thinking she is her friend, Lucrece. Through a series of errors, duels and false fabrications, "The Liar" dazzles with comic wit and slapstick.
Directed by artistic director James Eikrem, "The Liar" features a dynamic ensemble of CCC students and community members with scenic and lighting designed by Chris Whitten, and costumes by Gina Piva.
An opening night reception will be held Thursday, Feb. 28, at 6:30 p.m. with music provided by CCC's Jazz Combo under the direction of Music Department Chair Lars Campbell. Refreshments will be served.
"The Liar" runs Feb. 28-March 10, Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., with Sunday matinees at 2:30 p.m. All performances are in the Niemeyer Osterman Theatre, 19600 Molalla Ave., Oregon City. A special matinee will be offered Friday, March 8, at 10 a.m.
