CCC Board of Education Clackamas Community College is governed by a Board of Education and has an elected representative for each of the seven zones that make up the college district. A map of the seven zones is available. The Board oversees the development of programs and services, the adoption of policies and budget, to meet the needs of the college district. The Board generally meets every second Wednesday of the month, except for August, during which the Board does not meet. Greg Chaimov, Represents Zone 1, The Milwaukie area Greg Chaimov is an attorney who has lived in Clackamas County for more than 30 years. He is active in the community, serving on the Milwaukie City Council and the board of the North Clackamas Chamber of Commerce, of which he was chair 2011-12. He is the past board president of the Clackamas County Vector Control District and vice chair of the Clackamas County Historic Review Board. Jean Bidstrup, Represents Zone 2, The Central North part of Clackamas County Jean Bidstrup has served on the Board for the past 11 years. She brings 40 years of business management expertise in the transportation and logistics industry to CCC. Jean has resided in Clackamas County for 40 years where she has raised three grown children with her husband Frede. Prior to joining the Board, she served as a volunteer on the College's budget committee for six years. She is also a strong supporter of the CCC Foundation. Dave Hunt, Represents Zone 3, The Gladstone area Dave Hunt has extensive experience in both the public and private sectors. He began his career as a congressional staffer and went on to serve five terms in the Oregon Legislature, serving as both speaker and Democratic majority leader. He has served as executive director for three nonprofit associations and is currently the executive director of the Pacific Northwest Defense Coalition. Dave is a former member of the Oregon City School Board. Dave graduated from high school in Eugene and majored in political science and American government at Columbia University. Chris Groener, Represents Zone 4, The Oregon City and West Linn areas Chris Groener attended CCC where his father, Ralph Groener, served on the board in the 1970's. He transferred to Portland State University and was the president of Associated Students. He also served on both the Oregon Student Foundation and the PSU Alumni Board of Directors. He works as a union representative for UFCW Local 555 and has a wide range of legislative experiences and a strong grasp of public policy. Ron Adams, Represents Zone 5, The West Linn and Wilsonville areas Ron Adams is a longtime resident of West Linn and has served the community for 25 years as a West Linn Lion and as the program director of the Oregon Youth Conservation Corps. He was an Oregon state representative and served as chair of the undergraduate business program at Marylhurst University. Ron holds a degree in business from Portland State University, and a master’s degree in management from Marylhurst University. After graduating from PSU, Ron worked for Pacific Northwest Bell and retired from AT&T as a district marketing manager. Ron has served on the Board since 2003. Jane Reid, Represents Zone 6,The East Clackamas County area Jane Reid has served on the Board since 2007. She brings decades of community service and advocacy to CCC. Jane has been active in the project to revitalize the Estacada Auditorium through Estacada Together. Her community contributions also include developing The Powerhouse Project, a multi-year project that explores the dams and powerhouses on the Clackamas River through the arts, and spearheading numerous projects and funding efforts for the arts in Estacada and Clackamas County. Jane holds a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Connecticut. Jane is an advocate for the arts, education and the environment. Richard Oathes, Board Chair and Represents Zone 7, The South and Southwest area Richard Oathes is a retired business owner who operated a restaurant for 30 years. He also worked as a sales representative, clerk and operations supervisor. Richard is a Vietnam Veteran, serving as an aviation mechanic and air rescue crew chief. He has strong ties to the community and served as a Canby volunteer firefighter, was the Clackamas County Fair board director and president, and served as the director of the Mid-Willamette Valley Habitat for Humanity. Richard has served on the CCC Board of Education for Zone 7 since 2007, and is an advocate for affordable, quality education, life-long learning and programs for veterans.
