'Local Portraits Northwest'
OREGON CITY -- Portraiture is one of the oldest forms of art and has been used to communicate, document and immortalize people for millennium. "Local Portraits Northwest" brings the portrait work of artists from Oregon and Washington to Clackamas Community College's Alexander Gallery.
The exhibition is curated by CCC drawing instructor Chris Dreger, and showcases work from various disciplines including: sculptures, prints, paintings and digital media. Participating artists include: Storm Tharp, Susi J Lee, Chris Dreger, Buddy Bunting, Reed Clarke, Michael Hoeye, Thomas Wasson, David Andersen, Smith Eliot, Robert Petersen, Timothy Peitsch, David Slader, Jason Jones, Jeremy Davis, Sasa Miljevich and Senada Miljevich.
"Local Portraits Northwest" is free and open to the public. The exhibition runs Nov. 6 through Dec. 9. An artist reception will be held Wednesday, Nov. 8, from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Alexander Gallery. Dreger will speak about the topic of portraits and curating the exhibition at 1 p.m.
The Alexander gallery is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and is located in the Niemeyer Center on the Oregon City campus, 19600 Molalla Ave., Oregon City.
