Experience Indian dance at Clackamas Community College
OREGON CITY - Clackamas Community College’s World Languages Department presents "Mime and Movements", a performance by Oregon-based dancer and choreographer Jayanthi Raman and her dance troop.
Raman’s ‟Mime and Movement” is a blend of modern and Indian dance styles, which feature local dancers and performers from India. Raman came to the United States from India nearly 30 years ago. She has dancing all her life. Once in the United States, she founded a dance school and has been performing in the Pacific Northwest ever since.
The public is invited to experience "Mime and Movement" Thursday, Nov. 2, noon-1 p.m., in Gregory Forum, on the Oregon City campus, 19600 Molalla Ave. After the performance, learn more about Indian dance at an informational talk with the performers. There is no cost to attend.
"Mime and Movement" is sponsored by CCC’s World Languages Department and Multicultural Center. This event was made possible by a grant from the CCC Foundation, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization.
