  • Welcome to the English Department

We are known around campus for our innovative, student-centered teaching methods. Our ensemble of full-time and adjunct faculty bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise in all genres of writing —-poetry, fiction, drama and non-fiction.

We keep in mind the universal application of what we teach, and we teach with a view towards students' lifelong learning. We help students be creative. We enrich their lives.

    Associate of Science English Degree

This academic year (2014-15) we're excited to offer a new opportunity for students interested in pursuing English at the four-year university level. The Associate of Science English Degree allows students to choose what they're passionate about from one of four focus areas:English Literature, Creative Writing, Comics or Publishing.

If you have questions about the degree or would like additional information, contact Sue Mach, English Department Chair, at suema@clackamas.edu

    Department Highlights

We support a broad range of writing events and activities, including the CCC Writers' Club and Chrysalis Women Writers Group, which meet weekly during fall, winter and spring terms. Additionally, English faculty work closely with students to publish a highly-regarded national journal, The Clackamas Literary Review
