Wildland Fire Refresher Training (RT-130) / Work Capacity (Pack) Testing Wildland fire refresher training ensures that wildland firefighters have information regarding current issues and the upcoming fire season. Wildland refresher training is required annually by all federal, state and contract firefighters. Training is provided to recognize and mitigate risk, maintain safe and effective firefighting practices, and reduce accidents and near misses. CCC offers several 3-hour refresher courses each season. However, the college can also offer courses geared toward agency-specific requirements, such as Fireline EMTs. The Work Capacity (Pack) Test is also a yearly requirement for all fireline personnel. We offer the pack test at all three levels: arduous, moderate and light. As a recognized Public Training Provider, our pack tests are overseen by the Oregon Department of Forestry and fulfill the requirement for all agencies. In addition to scheduled dates, Pack Tests can be delivered at offsite locations for groups of 7 or more. Please see the calendar below for current dates. Additional dates can also be arranged for organizations wishing to host their own Refresher Courses or Pack tests.
