Enjoy music for the holidays at CCC

OREGON CITY - As the holiday season approaches, the music students at Clackamas Community College get their chance to shine. From jazz to choral to acoustic, there’s a performance for all tastes. Get in the holiday spirit by attending one or more of our concerts. Unless otherwise noted, all performances are at the Niemeyer-Osterman Theatre, 19600 Molalla Ave., Oregon City, and admission is $5.

Renegade Gospel - All Souls

Nov. 5, 6 p.m.

CCC Chamber and Mainstream Choirs, led by instruct Kathleen Hollingsworth, join other musicians and performers to inspire love and creativity through music. Performances will be held at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, 290 W. Gloucester St., Gladstone. Admission is free.

Instrumental Jazz Night

Nov. 28, 7:30 p.m.

Join the CCC Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Combos for an entertaining evening of big band and small-group jazz. Highlights include works from the Afro-Cuban big band repertoire to celebrate the jazz club’s return from Havana, Cuba.

Contemporary Music Ensemble Concert

Music Performance and Technology Program

Nov. 29, 7:30 p.m.

The Contemporary Music Ensemble explores different genres of contemporary music: pop, rock, blues and electronic. Students come from diverse musical backgrounds to collaborate and perform.

Wind Ensemble Concert

Nov. 30, 7:30 p.m.

This concert focuses on classic pieces from both the band and orchestral repertoire. Wagner’s “Entrance of the Gods into Valhalla” and Gliere’s “Russian Sailor’s Dance” are highlight performances as well as John Barnes Chance’s “Blue Lake Overture,” an energetic work full of mixed meters and masterful rhythm.

CCC Chamber Choir and Mainstream Winter Concert

Dec. 3, 7:30 p.m.

Join us for an evening of winter music that celebrates the joyful holiday season. Listen to choral performances of music from Faure, Mozart and more.

Youth Acoustic Concert

Dec. 16, 1-3 p.m.

Young musicians from the local area come together to showcase their talent. Enjoy their instrumental and vocal combined recitals.
