High School Connections Summer Programs
High school students in Clackamas County can participate in college credit programs all year long! Clackamas Community College (CCC) has four High School Connections programs offered during the regular school year as well as summer programming.
Career Technical Education (CTE) Summer Camps
CCC offers fun and exciting Career and Technical Education (CTE) summer camps that provide college credit opportunities to local high school students, completely free! Camps are open to students who live and go to school in Clackamas County. Students must be entering grades 9-12 in fall 2026. Lunch will be provided and transportation assistance is available from some area high schools to the college. Camps have limited space and will use a weighted lottery to determine placement.
2026 CTE Summer Camp Offerings
CTE Summer camps will run Monday August 10th – Thursday August 13th, 2026, from 9 a.m.–3 p.m.
- Horticulture: Organic Farming & Gardening: HOR-290 (1 credit)
Develop & learn the principles & best practices of organic fruit & vegetable gardening in the PNW.
- Machine Tool Technology: MTT-199 (1 credit)
Overview of Machine Tool Technology is a beginning survey course designed to give students a broad overview of Computer Numeric Control (CNC) and manual machine tools for manufacturing applications. Students will learn basic set up and operation for lathe and milling machines, how to use precision measuring tools, core principals of G&M RS-274 coding, how to read basic machining blueprints, and safety in the workshop.
- Makerspace: MFG-102 (1 credit)
This course introduces students to aspects of digital design and manufacturing through the use of sophisticated modeling software; 3-D printing, laser cutting and scanning; and CNC machining. Students will complete a series of hands-on projects that require imagination and determination while learning solid workmanship principles.
- Medical Assisting: MA-100 (2 credits)
Introduces the knowledge, skills, and attributes of a successful Medical Assistant while exploring the connection between patient experience and patient outcomes. Summarizes the clinical and employability skills required for providing clinical care while introducing content for career exploration.
- Introduction to Emergency Management: EMP-199 (2 credits)
This course introduces students to the foundational principles and practices of emergency management through interactive, scenario-based learning. Students explore how communities prepare for, respond to, recover from, and reduce the impacts of disasters while gaining hands-on experience with teamwork, communication, and decision-making in a simulated Incident Command Post environment. Throughout the course, students rotate through key Incident Command System (ICS) roles and participate in applied exercises that emphasize collaboration, leadership, and problem-solving during realistic emergency scenarios, including hazards relevant to Oregon. By the end of the course, students will have a practical understanding of how emergency management organizations coordinate people, resources, and information to support community safety and resilience.
- Introduction to Cybersecurity: (CS-122) (2 credits)
In this course students explore how cybersecurity affects their digital activities every day, including school, gaming, social media, banking, shopping, and AI tools. Students examine common online threats and apply practical protections to secure their personal accounts and devices. Through demonstrations, activities, and hands-on practice, students develop skills and a mindset in threat recognition, privacy management, and digital security while exploring diverse cybersecurity career pathways in technology, policy, and business.
All Summer Camps will be held on the Oregon City Campus of Clackamas Community College.
How to sign up for CTE Summer Camps:
Complete the form below to sign up for CCC's free CTE Summer Camps by June 7. Students and families will be notified of placement into CTE Summer Camps by June 18th. In order to complete the sign-up form, students must have a CCC ID#. Students can apply to CCC here. It can take 1-2 days after applying to receive a CCC ID#. If you are unsure if a student has a CCC account, contact hsconnections@clackamas.edu.
