NWAACC Award Honors Clackamas Athletics

Article by: Janet Paulson

Clackamas Community College has been named a “President’s Cup” winner for the academic achievements of its student athletes. The Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges (NWAACC) named CCC the second place winner in the large school division in the inaugural year for the award.

NWAACC awards the President’s Cup based on a point system that recognizes the completion of 36 and 72 credits, earning certificates and/or degrees, and the grade point averages. CCC tied with Umpqua and Blue Mountain community colleges for the highest ranked school.

About 200 athletes, both men and women, compete for Clackamas Community College in the NWAACC and the National Junior College Athletic Association.
