CCC Named ‘Oregon City Large Business of the Year’

Clackamas Community College was named the Large Business of the Year during the Oregon City Chamber’s annual banquet, held Jan. 25 at the Pacific Crest Grand Ballroom.  

The criteria for the award included involvement in the community, key involvement with education, growth and innovation. Judy Ervin, chair of the CCC Board of Education, accepted the award on behalf of the college.  

In addition, The Clackamas Repertory Theatre (CRT) was awarded the Oregon City Chamber’s “Best Place to Have Fun” award. Cynthia Smith English, CRT managing director, was on hand to accept the award. 

Vicki Smith, CCC Foundation development officer was installed as the chair of the Oregon City Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. Smith will serve a one-year term as chair and complete her current three-year term. She is a 25-year member of the Oregon City Chamber of Commerce and currently serving her third term on the chamber board.

The Environmental Learning Center is one of 27 projects that will benefit from Metro’s Nature in Neighborhoods grant program. Metro recently awarded an $868,342 grant to fund site restoration at the Clackamas Community College’s ELC on the Oregon City campus. Full Story
