Integrated pest management

Integrated pest management is a strategy that combines sanitation and cultural, biological and mechanical controls to reduce pest populations. Examples include using pest-resistant plants, maintaining landscapes and spraying. Integrated pest management decides the best course of action for pest control while reducing the environmental and economic impacts.

The college will provide 24-hour notice of planned applications. The notice will remain in effect for 72 hours post-application, except in cases of emergency.

    March 26 - April 26 Pesticide Application (Oregon City/Wilsonville/Harmony)

    We will be using Defendor EPA# 62719-560 to control weeds in the turf on the Oregon City, Harmony and Wilsonville campuses as weather allows March 26-April 26. Signage will be posted in the areas to be sprayed 24 hours prior to treatments. Applications will be made between 6 a.m.-2 p.m. and re-entry is when dry.

    April 1 - May 1 Pesticide Application (Oregon City, Wilsonville and Harmony campuses)

    We will be using Ranger-Pro EPA# 524-517 to control weeds and grasses in the beds on the Oregon City, Harmony and Wilsonville campuses April 1st-May 1st. Signage will be posted 24 hours prior in the areas to be sprayed. Applications will be completed as weather allows between 6 a.m.-2 p.m. Re-entry when dry.

    April 16 - July 31 Pesticide Application (Wilsonville)

    We will be using Contrac All-Weather Blox (Bromadiolone), EPA Reg. No. 12455-79, in enclosed rodent traps around the perimeter of the building (NOT in the building).     April 20 - May 20 Pesticide Application (Harmony and Wilsonville)

    We will be using Speedzone EPA# 62719-833 and Dimension EPA# 62719-542 to control broadleaf weeds and crabgrass in the turf areas at Harmony and Wilsonville April 20 to May20. Signage will be put out 24 hours prior to treatments. Applications will be completed between 6 a.m.-10 a.m., re-entry when dry.

    To May 29

    May 1 - May 29 Fungicide application at Home Orchard Education Center

    Spray applications will take place at the Home Orchard Education Center orchard May 1 - May 29 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Cyd-X (caution), EPA reg#: 70051-44, REI: 4 hours. Surround (caution), EPA reg#: 61842-18, REI: 4 hours. Hi-Yield Wettable Sulfur (caution), EPA reg#: 7401-188-34911, REI: until dry or 24 hours.
