Integrated pest management

Integrated pest management is a strategy that combines sanitation and cultural, biological and mechanical controls to reduce pest populations. Examples include using pest-resistant plants, maintaining landscapes and spraying. Integrated pest management decides the best course of action for pest control while reducing the environmental and economic impacts.

The college will provide 24-hour notice of planned applications. The notice will remain in effect for 72 hours post-application, except in cases of emergency.

    April 16 - July 31 Pesticide Application (Wilsonville)

    We will be using Contrac All-Weather Blox (Bromadiolone), EPA Reg. No. 12455-79, in enclosed rodent traps around the perimeter of the building (NOT in the building).     May 1 - May 29 Fungicide application at Home Orchard Education Center

    Spray applications will take place at the Home Orchard Education Center orchard May 1 - May 29 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Cyd-X (caution), EPA reg#: 70051-44, REI: 4 hours. Surround (caution), EPA reg#: 61842-18, REI: 4 hours. Hi-Yield Wettable Sulfur (caution), EPA reg#: 7401-188-34911, REI: until dry or 24 hours.

    May 2 - June 2 weed control (all campuses)

    We will be using Ranger-Pro EPA# 524-517 to control weeds and grasses in the bed areas on the Oregon City, Harmony and Wilsonville campuses May 2- June-2. Signage will be posted in the areas to be treated 24 hours prior to treatments. The applications will be made between 6 a.m.-2 p.m. Specific dates will be noted on signage. Re-entry when dry.
