CCC Support and Emergency Funding Resources
Life happens. Sometimes an expense comes up that prevents you from staying in school or continuing momentum to reach your educational goal. CCC is here to help!
These resources are available to CCC students and are supported through the CCC Foundation or other department or community funds. We hope that these additional funding options will help you as you continue to pursue your education at CCC. Please contact us at care@clackamas.edu with any questions.
Emergency funding resources
CCC provides support to student veterans.
Eligibility: Grant recipients will be selected through an evaluation process that is based on, and may not be limited to: income, credit hours, grade point average, number and age of children and a student's ability to sufficiently demonstrate a financial need for the grant.
Application Process: Funding requests for eligible students are submitted by staff on behalf of the identified student to the Foundation.

The CCC Financial Aid Office has access to emergency foundation funds that provide tuition, textbook and other expenses related to student retention.
Eligibility: Grant recipients will be selected through an evaluation process that is based on, and may not be limited to: income, credit hours, grade point average, number and age of children and a student's ability to sufficiently demonstrate a financial need for the grant.
Application Process: Funding requests for eligible students are submitted by staff on behalf of the identified student to the Foundation.

The CCC Counseling Department has funds to support students who are unable to pay for class fees, textbooks and other expenses relating to retention.
Eligibility: Eligibility is based on enrollment, need, previous access of grant funds, and whether the fund can adequately meet the student's need. Income, credit hours, grade point average, number and age of children are not taken into account.
Application Process: Funding requests for eligible students are submitted by staff on behalf of the identified student to the Foundation.

CCC provides support to nursing students to overcome barriers to their education.
Eligibility: Grant recipients will be selected through an evaluation process that is based on, and may not be limited to: income, credit hours, grade point average, number and age of children and a student's ability to sufficiently demonstrate a financial need for the grant.
Application: Funding requests for eligible students are submitted by staff on behalf of the identified student to the Foundation.

Supplemental CCC Resources
Associated Student Government (ASG) has a limited number of Chromebooks for students to check out at no cost for currently registered students. If you are interested in checking out a Chromebook, please complete the application on the Associated Student Government webpage.
Some courses require a laptop or desktop computer instead of a Chromebook. Those courses include all Business Technology (BT) courses and all Computer Science (CS) courses. Those classes also include: BA-131, BA-205, BA-101 and BA-228. ASG has some laptops available. Please specify if you need a laptop when submitting your application form.

CCC provides support to students seeking assistance with transportation including bike repair/parts/lock. The transportation grant also provides gift cards for gas purchase for eligible carpooling.
Eligibility: Grant recipients will be selected through an evaluation process that is based on, and may not be limited to: income, credit hours, grade point average, number and age of children and a student's ability to sufficiently demonstrate a financial need for the grant.
Application Process: Every term, students apply through ASG's grants website and then the applications get downloaded and selected by ASG.
TriMet's Low-Income Fare Program allows participants to purchase an adult fare single pass for $1.25 (standard price is $2.50), day pass for $2.50 (standard price is $5), and month pass for $28 (standard price is $100). Apply online using TriMet's online application.

CCC Horticulture Farmers Market and ASG provide support for students' educational expenses.

The CCC Financial Aid Office provides grants, loans and work-study funds for college students. In the United States, the federal government offers more than $150 billion each year to help millions of students pay for higher education.
Eligibility varies depending on student Financial Application of Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) information. More information can be found on the Financial Aid Grants, Loans, and Work-Study web page.

Associated Student Government (ASG) has leadership positions with varying levels of compensation, from textbook vouchers to tuition waivers. For information and application link, visit the Associated Student Government webpage.
Peer Assistants are also leadership positions in several student services offices, which carry tuition waivers as benefits. For more information and application link, visit the Peer Program webpage.
CCC and ASG provide additional textbook assistance to veterans, above and beyond the Textbook Grant.
Eligibility: These funds are available to currently enrolled students who are underrepresented and low-income and who have not previously been eligible for CARES relief.
Application Process: Applications for fall term are now open and can be submitted through this online survey. Applications will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and applicants will be notified via their CCC email account if the request is awarded

The STEP Grant provides support for students who are currently receiving SNAP benefits (once known as food stamps).
Eligibility: If you are receiving SNAP benefits and working on your GED, English language skills or a career technical program at CCC, the STEP program can give you added support and resources to help you succeed.

The student food program aims to help supplement food needs and is open to current CCC students on a first-request, first-served basis.
Contactless pick-up is available every Wednesday during the term. A request must be submitted in order to receive items; students will be contacted with a pick-up time, location and details.
To make a food request, email asgfrontdesk@clackamas.edu. Include your name, phone number, household size, food needs and dietary restrictions. ASG will attempt to accommodate your request based on items they have in stock.
If you’re a student who struggles with hunger, housing concerns, or other issues on top of your school work, there are benefits that belong to you. The CCC Benefits Navigator can help you access resources that are available in your community, so that you can focus on your educational success.

Community resources
Our buildings may be closed, but Clackamas Community College has Wi-Fi access in some of our parking lots. Students are welcome to come to campus and use our Wi-Fi while practicing safe social distancing practices.
Students who do not have internet access can also explore various temporary solutions.
Some companies may be offering temporary aid for those affected by the coronavirus. CCC cannot recommend any specific service but as of March 17, the following programs are offering free/low-cost internet access:
- everyoneon.org Site has an easy-to-search tool that connects folks with local Internet Service Providers (ISPs) who offer low-cost internet service programs. Lots of new entries in this challenging time!
- Comcast's Internet Essentials - Free for 60 days for qualified low-income families. Call 1-855-846-8376 for English or 1-855-765-6995 for Spanish.
- Comcast is offering Xfinity WiFi free for everyone, with hotspots available to all, including non-Xfinity subscribers. To access the service, look for the “xfinitywifi” network name in a list of hotspots. For more information, go to www.xfinity.com/wifi
- Spectrum Broadband - Free for 60 days to households with a K-12 student or college student who do not already have a Spectrum broadband subscription. Installation fees will be waived for new student households as well. To enroll, call 1-844-488-8395.
