Hone your skills with professional musicians at one of CCC's faculty-led summer music camps. Learn in a fun and creative environment and close out the week with a performance for peers, friends and family.
Music Summer Camps
CCC's Contemporary Voices Summer Music Camp is open to all singers who want to immerse themselves in a five-day musical journey that can foster growth and inspiration.
Directed by Dr. Kathleen Hollingsworth, CCC's Director of Vocal Music, there will be daily classes in:
- Singing
- Songwriting
- Recording
- Choir
- Circle singing
- A cappella
- Functional theory creativity
- Career-building
- Fun!
Come as you are. All musical skill levels are welcome!
Reasons to join the Contemporary Voices Summer Music Camp
- Learn new vocal jazz, gospel and choral works in the all-camp choir.
- Collaboratively compose new music in a circle singing group.
- Learn and perform a standard in the evening concert.
- Learn (and understand) music theory.
- Hear guest musicians play and talk about music.
- Make new friends.
Dates: TBD
Location: Niemeyer Center on CCC's Oregon City campus
Cost: $150. Additional $50 for evening recording sessions (6-9 p.m. for those interested in recording music, playing music or learning about recording arts).
Clackamas Community College pairs with Rose City Brass Co. to offer a week of chamber brass playing, focusing specifically on the brass quintet repertoire. Students will enjoy daily masterclasses, group playing by instrument type, coached and un-coached rehearsals, and the opportunity to observe professional rehearsals and performances. All participants will give a performance at the end of the week in a combined concert with Rose City Brass Trio, Joe Klause (trumpet), Rebecca Olason (horn) and Lars Campbell (trombone).
- Dates: TBD
- Cost: $250 per student. Complete ensembles receive a 20% discount off the total camp cost and should register as an ensemble. Need-based scholarship opportunities may be available.
