Get the Skills You Need to Lead
OREGON CITY - Without the right skills, becoming a new leader at work can be daunting and risky. To assist new and emerging leaders, Clackamas Community College's Connections With Business and Industry is offering a six-week Emerging Leaders course.
Emerging Leaders will help create a smooth and confident transition for those gaining more responsibilities and moving up the ladder. Participants will develop their professional skills, as well as learn to manage others, oversee projects and streamline business processes. Topics include leadership interaction styles, communication strategies, setting goals and reviewing results, conflict and difficult behavior management and time management.
"Our leadership development programs at CCC will enhance the performance of new and emerging leaders," Lisa Davidson, executive director of CCC Connections with Business and Industry, said.
Emerging Leaders is instructed by Carolyn Waterfall, who has master's degrees in counseling and adult education and organization development. She specializes in leadership, management and supervisory training.
The course begins March 6 and classes are every other week and will be held on the Oregon City campus. The cost is $695.
