Clackamas Community College Seeks Businesses in Need of Student Interns
OREGON CITY - Clackamas Community College's motto is Education That Works. Together, with the city of Oregon City, the college wants to put education to work. Thanks to a grant from the city, CCC is offering internship opportunities for students with Oregon City businesses.
CCC is seeking to identify businesses that could use some extra help, either for the short-term or the long-term. Businesses will get qualified interns to help fill needs, and CCC students will gain career exploration and hands-on job training. The college will work side-by-side with employers to determine workforce gaps and how a quality intern can help fill them.
"Fostering partnerships with local Oregon City businesses is incredibly important for the college. It's a pleasure enriching the city's workforce and expanding real-life work experience opportunities for our students," Tina Tewes, CCC internships coordinator, said.
CCC's Career Center and Connections with Business and Industry departments are hosting an information session for employers on Wednesday, Feb. 24, from 9 to 10 a.m. via Zoom. Employers will learn how to develop an internship program and how CCC can help them find qualified interns.
Getting involved as a business partner is simple. To register to attend, go to CCC's Career Center and CBI meeting on Zoom. To learn more, contact Tina Tewes at firstname.lastname@example.org or 503-594-6385.
