OREGON CITY - Clackamas Community College has been awarded $980,919 in Future Ready Oregon Career Pathways funding. Future Ready Oregon is a state-led $200 million investment to get Oregonians the education and training they need to get living-wage careers.

Clackamas Community College will use some of its funding to hire several key positions. The positions include a director to engage with faculty and employers to assess the college's current certificates to ensure they align with industry needs, an outreach coordinator to connect with priority populations and organizations, and a career pathways coach to work with students and offer wraparound support. Nearly half of the funding will be used to directly help students pay for tuition, textbooks, child care, testing fees, emergency assistance and gas cards.

"We are excited to help even more students be able to afford a college education and receive the training they need to get well-paying jobs," Clackamas Community College President Tim Cook said. "This is not only good for our students, but also for the community and the businesses that need a trained workforce."
