Clackamas Community College is a Grow Your Own grantee funded through the Educator Advancement Council. The purpose of the Clackamas Inclusive, Diverse Educator Access (IDEA) project is to expand equitable educator pathways for potential early learning and K-12 licensed teachers, with a focus on students who have been systemically marginalized and underrepresented in teacher preparation programs, specifically Latinx and Spanish-speaking students.

Clackamas IDEA has four main goals for its grant funding:

  1. Provide tuition support to Spanish-speaking early learning students completing an AAS degree in early childhood education and family studies.
  2. Collaborate with high schools to offer ED 101 courses that introduce students to the teaching field and allow them to earn credits at no cost.
  3. Offer bilingual navigation support services.
  4. Provide financial support to classified Education Service District employees who want to transition into licensed K-12 teaching roles.
